In June 2019, Jersey had undergone 13 consecutive months with below-average rainfall and rainfall levels for the year were 16% below average.
During the dry summer of 2019 and as part of Jersey Water’s Water Resources Management Plan, we created a campaign on how water consumption can be reduced through education on using water more efficiently at home.
The message emphasised the new single minded proposition – Save Water Now – and encouraged people to download the water saving app. In other words, even though the reservoirs at the time were (almost) full, we need to take action now to prevent water shortages later on in the year.
